My Galaxy Note came with Gingerbread. It was brilliant. The ICS update screwed it up with battery drain, eternity to charge and crap performance. Oh, and portable WIFI hotspot was killed.

“Upgrade” to JB and lose even MORE ability? No thank you!!

I totlly agree – when I had Gingerbread on my Note is was fast, the battery lasted two days and it never crashed. Then upgraded to ICS and it all went downhill – battery not barely lasts a day. Phone gets hotter and runs slower.

Nico & Jack, your reluctance is understandable but JB fixes those issues. Better battery life, doesn’t run hot. I’d recommend you update ASAP, but that’s just my 2c worth.

How do you update to the new operating system? I have a samsung stratosphere and it says no updates available

you mentioned the biggest problem however…to get ICS or JB, you need to get a new phone…They won’t upgrade say a Droid X or even a Droid 3…That seems to be above them….
